2014 Favourites

Apologies for the lack of posts this past month. I wish I could tell you that I was busy traveling the world or coming up with a spectacular new invention but the truth is that I was being lazy. But I plan on changing that next year. In 2015 I plan to post at least once a week. Let's see how long that lasts..

I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas and are enjoying the last few days of 2014. Before we enter the new year I thought what better time to look back and talk about some of my favourite things of the past 12 months!

Beauty/Skincare/Fragrance
I'm not going to lie, 2014 hasn't been a big year of new discoveries beauty wise but I have discovered a few wonders that I will continue to love into the new year. First is the Garnier Micellar Cleansing Water. Not only does it cleanse your face but it also removes your make-up. I spoke about this in one of my favourites posts a few months back and it's remained a skincare staple. Keeping on the topic of skincare I've also been loving the Simple light moisturiser. I'll usually apply this in the morning before I put on my make-up and it really does leave your skin soft and feeling fresh. My favourite perfume of the year would definitely have to be Taylor by Taylor Swift. I received this last Christmas and after a year the bottle is almost empty which does upset me a little. I'm no good with describing scents so I'm not even going to attempt it, but if you get the chance give this a good whiff. It's amazing. Finally, my last beauty fave of the year are these EcoTools make-up brushes. I seriously don't know what I had done before I bought these! Again, these were featured in a favourites post a few months ago. Not only do they apply make-up well, they're super cheap and eco-friendly!

Coconut
For me, 2014 was the year of the coconut. I have become obsessed with both the taste and the scent of the stuff and I just cannot get enough! For Christmas I was lucky enough to receive a number of coconut themed things including the Black Coconut Yankee Candle & a bunch of coconut stuff from the Body Shop.

Food
I made a lot of food discoveries this year, and it's no secret that my top new found love were nakd. bars. With a whole variety of different flavours, these bars can do no wrong. They're basically just fruit and nuts cold pressed together. I've tried every flavour (with the exception of Cocoa Orange since I don't like orange chocolate) and my favourites would have to be caffe mocha, cashew cookie, gingerbread, Christmas pud & pecan pie.

The Moomins
I've loved these Finnish hippo-like creatures ever since I was little and for years I had forgotten about them. That was until they started popping up again everywhere! Over the past few years Moomin merchandise has been appearing in high street stores such as Primark, Topshop and Waterstones and it's only fueled my obsession once again. 2014 saw my Moomin collection expand with me now owning Moomin themed pyjamas, stationary, figurines, a plush toy and I even had a Moomin birthday cake for my 18th birthday! I don't doubt that my love for these cuties will continue into the new year what with my 2015 calendar being a Moomin one.

Music
This year was filled with great new music discoveries such as 5 Seconds of Summer and a variety of new music from already loved artists including Twin Atlantic, Taylor Swift, Ed Sheeran & Union J. My favourite albums of the year would definitely have to be the Great Divide by Twin Atlantic and 1989 by Taylor Swift. I've also been hooked on the two newly released Marina & the Diamonds songs, FROOT and Happy. I seriously cannot wait for her new album which is set to be released next year! I've also of course been to a number of gigs over the past 12 months including Panic! at the Disco, Fall Out Boy, All Time Low, Twin Atlantic and more recently Nina Nesbitt and Against the Current. I don't doubt that 2015 will be another rad year for music.

TV & Film
It's no secret that I'm not the biggest TV or film watcher but that doesn't mean that I don't have a few favourites to share with you. Just like the previous seasons, I've been hooked to American Horror Story: Freakshow. It's definitely one of my favourite seasons of the show. I can't wait for it to pick back up in the new year! I may not be a huge watcher of TV shows but I do love my anime and this year my favourite anime series would have to be YuruYuri. The first series of the anime actually originally aired in 2011 with the second series airing in 2012, but I watched both this year and loved it! It's one of those 'slice of life' animes which are my favourite.

Finally, the one film that stuck out to me this year was of course the Fault In Our Stars. I'm a huge fan of John Green's books and had been itching to see the film adaption ever since it was first announced. And I wasn't disappointed! I can't wait to see the film adaption of one of John Green's other novels, Paper Towns.

It seriously doesn't feel that long ago that we were saying goodbye to 2013. This year has been the fastest yet and I don't doubt that 2015 fly by even faster! Thank you so much for taking the time out to read this. Whether you've read every single blog post or this is the first one, I really do appreciate it! I hope you all have a wonderful new year and I'll see you in 2015.

The Christmas Tag '14

The festive season is finally upon us and I could not be more excited! I will hold my hands up and admit that I am one of those people who get into the Christmas spirit a bit too early (October isn't TOO early, right?) But now that it's December there is no reason not to embrace the festive season.
So, I'm going to get right into the swing of things by answering a bunch of Christmas related questions. I browsed the Internet for a Christmas Tag and found this post here! What better way to kick off the most wonderful time of the year.

1) What is your favourite Christmas movie/s?
I don't care what anyone says, Elf is the best Christmas film of all time. I'm not a huge film watcher, even when it comes to Christmas time, but you can always guarantee that I'll be watching Elf at least once over the holiday season. It's just hilarious and I am in love with Zooey Deschanel.

2) Do you open your presents on Christmas Eve or Christmas morning?
Who in their right mind would open their presents on Christmas Eve?! It HAS to be done on Christmas morning. I know some people get to open one present on Christmas Eve but my parents never allowed us to do that despite the constant begging me and my sister did when we were younger. Although, this year my Mum has decided to start a 'new tradition' by giving us our Christmas pyjamas to open on Christmas Eve so we're able to wear them instead of having us unwrap them on Christmas day itself.

3) Do you have a favourite Christmas memory?
I don't really have a specific Christmas memory that comes to mind. I'd say my favourite memory is just the whole day itself and all the small family traditions that we have. I'm pretty big on traditions and if any of them are broken I go ballistic!

4) Favourite festive food?
Mr Kipling Winter Warmers are by far my favourite! Warm fruit pies are my favourite type of dessert and these Winter Warms are just bliss, especially the pear, plum & cinnamon ones! Also, just anything that's cinnamon, gingerbread and filled with spicy goodness.

5) Favourite Christmas gift?
I don't really have a favourite Christmas gift of all time. It changes every year. Last year my favourite Christmas gift was my 3DS and the Animal Crossing: New Leaf game and the year before that my favourites was my Moomin plushie and Sylvanian family figures. I am a 5 year old child.

6) Favourite Christmas scent?
The Christmas Cookie Yankee candle. That is all.

7) Do you have any Christmas Eve traditions?
My family have never really had any Christmas Eve traditions. My own personal tradition is getting too damn excited and not being able to sleep that night! Although, usually there'll be a few Christmas specials on TV that we'll watch.

8) What tops your tree?
A star and sometimes my sister's toy elephant. Don't ask.

9) As a kid what was the one (crazy, wild, extravagant) gift you always asked for but never received?
I never asked for anything too crazy like a pony or a puppy but every year I would ask for Sylvanian Family figures and Playmobil. Did I ever get them? No. But guess who did. My 8 year old sister has previously received both of these. It's a very sensitive subject in my household. However, a couple of years ago my parents finally got me a set of Sylvanian family figures as a joke. Better late than never I suppose!

10) What's the best part about Christmas for you?
I'd have to say the best part is the whole countdown to it. Don't get me wrong, I LOVE the day itself and it's my favourite day of the year but after those 24 hours that's it over The three weeks before it are what really make Christmas for me. The excitement, the preparation, counting down each day with your advent calendar, putting the decorations up, EVERYTHING!

So if you haven't already guessed I am pretty much a Christmas enthusiast!
Feel free to let me know down in the comments what your favourite thing about Christmas is and answer these questions yourself.

Until next time,
Elijah xo

Kawaii Box November '14 Review

I'm back today with another Kawaii Box review! And I have to say that I'm pretty damn excited about this month's box. Usually with these kind of subscription boxes it's very hit or miss, but with the exception of two of the items, I'm pretty damn pleased with it all.

First we have a super cute cat keyring. I'm not sure if this is a specific branded character or just a random cat. The only problem I have with these soft, plush keyrings is that I never want to actually attach it to my bag in fear of it getting all dirty and ruined! So, instead I have this sitting nicely on my shelf.

Along with keyrings, Kawaii Box always seems to come with at least one phone charm. This month is no exception! I am totally in love with this macaroon phone charm. It reminds me of those decoden phone cases that people make! Again, like the keyring, I'm not actually going to use this as a phone charm but use it as a cute decorative shelf piece.

As usual Kawaii Box comes with a yummy snack! Pocky are my favourite biscuits ever so I was super excited to find these in the box. Although, I will admit to wishing that they were a more exciting flavour than just chocolate. If you've never tried Pocky before then I highly recommend that you do! The European branded name for Pocky is Mikado which you can find in pretty much any supermarket!

Naturally no box is complete without a variety of stationary items! Despite never actually using them as much as I would like, there's just something overly exciting about stationary. Surely I'm not the only one who gets over-excited on entering Paperchase? Here we have some cute panda stickers and some mini sticky notes! I'm sure I'll find a good use for these.

Apologies for the crappy photo, but here's another decorative/stationary item, a set of decorative stationary stickers. I used these to decorate one of my glass mason jars that I use to keep my cotton pads in. I did struggle a little trying to stick it down as it's all in one roll and I had to cut it, and once stuck down some parts did unstick but that could have just been the glass surface I stuck it on.

One of my favourite items in this month's box was this little sheep mini desk calendar. IT'S SO CUTE! The sheep is making a different face on every month. I was also pleasantly surprised to find that it actually started this month so I don't have to wait until January to put it up. Am I the only one who gets a calendar for Christmas and is disappointed over the fact that they can't hang it up straight away?

Another one of my favourite items were these cute My Melody socks. My Melody is a character from the brand Sanrio who are the brains behind Hello Kitty. Anyone who knows me knows that I am OBSESSED with socks so I was more than pleased about these! I'm not entirely sure how I feel about the material though. I'm no good with explaining things but it feels a little more rough than usual sock material, but I'm hoping they may feel softer after they've been through the wash.

There's always bound to be at least one item in these kind of subscription boxes that you're not overly fond of and for me it was these two. An 'OMG' keyring which I probably would have found cool back when I was ten and a zip bracelet which I think is pretty cool but I would probably never wear.

As I said, I was pretty pleased with the November box overall! I really hope that there's some Christmas related items in next months box. I'm already too excited about it!

Until next time,
Elijah xo

October '14 Favourites

This post is a little overdue but it's here none the less. Part of me is a little upset that October is over but the other part of me is jumping up and down with extreme excitement! The end of October only means one thing. CHRISTMAS IS NEXT MONTH! Yes, yes, yes, I know it's still over a month away but Christmas is my absolute favourite time of year and if it were socially acceptable I would embrace the holiday all year round. Unfortunately, many people would be more than happy to throw a stocking full of coal at me if I did that..

But I am not here to talk about Christmas. The end of the month brings a new batch of favourites and  have a few wonders to share with you!

American Horror Story: Freakshow
Now, I'm not someone who usually gets overly excited about TV shows, but ever since the forth series of AHS was confirmed I have been buzzing! AHS is probably my all-time favourite TV show. Yes, it beats Doctor Who. Just. Five episodes into the series and I am obsessed with it! I would say it's my second favourite series so far after Asylum. I can't wait to see how fucked up this series gets! Tell me I'm not the only one that thinks the more fucked up, the better..

Zoella Beauty Creamy Madly Dreamy Body Lotion
I've been a huge Zoella fan for around two years now, and I can't quite believe the success she's had since. I subscribed to her before she hit 1 million subscribers and now she'll soon be on the verge of hitting 7 million. It's insane! So, you can imagine my excitement when she launched her very own beauty range.  I knew that I had to buy at least one of the items. This body lotion is a dream! I wasn't overly fussed about the scent to begin with as I usually prefer spicier scents like cinnamon and this scent is a lot more fresh, but I've grown to really like it. I'm also in total awe over the packaging.

Etude House Green Tea Cleansing Foam
You may remember a post I made last month about the Etude House products I recently purchased. That post included this very cleansing foam. I love how it lathers up really easily and how it makes your face feel so much more refreshed and clean afterwards! This is the first time I've ever used a cleansing foam as I'm usually really bad with skin care, but I can safely say that this did not disappoint!

Music Favourites
The month of October saw two music favourites. The first is a song that goes by the name of FROOT by Marina & the Diamonds. Marina is my number one favourite artist and I have been waiting on the edge of my seat since the end of the Electra Heart era for new music. I have had this song on repeat and am still not fed up with hearing it! I literally cannot express how excited I am for her upcoming third album. With Electra Heart being one of my favourite albums of all time it will be incredibly difficult for this new album to be AS good but if FROOT is anything to go by, it could be a very close call.

My second music favourite of the month is by none other than Miss Taylor Swift. Her fifth album, 1989, was released towards the end of the month and I am officially obsessed. It's completely different to her previous four albums but is just as good and just as, if not more, catchy. It's not my favourite album of hers (that spot is a tie between Speak Now and Red) but it definitely did not disappoint me in the slightest. My favourite songs would probably have to be Wonderland (which is on the deluxe edition), All You Had To Do Was Stay, Blank Space and How You Get The Girl. And I also feel like I should mention that after almost a six year wait, I will FINALLY be seeing her live in June! It's been a long time coming but I don't doubt that it'll be worth the wait.

I can't quite believe that the next time I write a favourites post we will be in December and the countdown to Christmas will have officially begun. HELLO ADVENT CALENDAR!
Let me know what you've been loving during the month of October or if you've loved any of the same things I have.

Until next time,
Elijah xo

The Autumn Tag 2014

I had originally planned on posting my October favourites today but due to being pretty damn busy over the past few days I haven't been able to take the pictures needed. Still living up to the title of 'worst blogger ever.' So, instead of leaving it another week without a post, I thought I'd search the internet for a tag. I found this post here with a bunch of questions all about my favourite season so I thought I'd give it a go!

1) What's your favourite seasonal drink from Starbucks/Costa/Cafe Nero?
I will hold my hands up and admit that I am one of those stereotypical 'white girls' and am absolutely obsessed with Pumpkin Spice Lattes from Starbucks. You cannot deny the deliciousness of them though! Come on! There is nothing better than getting to the end of the coffee and being met with that real pumpkiny, sugary sweetness of the syrup that's gathered at the bottom. I also really like the hot spiced apple drink from Costa!

2) Accessories - what do you opt for? Scarf, boots, gloves?
I usually don't start wearing hats, scarves and gloves until winter, but I do love a good pair of boots. I usually buy a new pair every year, but have still to do so this year. I should really get round to it before the snow arrives. I also love wearing thicker, cosy tights! Especially if they're in Autumnal colours like burgundy.

3) What's your favourite music to listen to during Autumn?
I don't really have a specific artist that I listen to more during the Autumn months. Usually I'll just be listening to whatever I'm loving at that moment in time (right now I am OBSESSED with Taylor Swift's new album and Twin Atlantic!)  However, there are two albums that remind me of these colder months. The first being 'Red' by Taylor Swift. This album came out in the Autumn of 2012 and being the huge lover of Taylor I am, I listened to the album non-stop for weeks. Ed Sheeran's debut album, '+' also reminds me of Autumn. I can't remember during what season I first listened to it, but for me the album just has an Autumnal vibe. I also don't think it helps that one of the songs on the deluxe version is called 'Autumn Leaves.'

4) What's your favourite scent for this time of year?
CINNAMON, CINNAMON & CINNAMON! If you know me then you know that I am OBSESSED with anything cinnamon flavoured or scented. I also really like the smell of warm fruit pies or crumbles, especially apple! Both smells & tastes of heaven.

5) What scents will you be burning this season?
I am a sucker for Yankee candles. They are my favourite! I'm not a huge fan of the fruity/floral scents, but I am a lover of the spicier scents. Of course I love the sweet cinnamon candle, but I also really like salted caramel. I also may or may not have already burned by Christmas Cookie candle this season... Even if you're not one to get into the Christmas spirit this early (although for me it's NEVER too early to get into the Christmas spirit) you need to give this a sniff. BEST.CANDLE.EVER!!

6) What do you love most about Autumn?
Oh, I could go on and on about everything I love about this season. It marks the beginning of my favourite time of year (October-December), and it is socially acceptable to drink hot coffee more than twice a day. I love being able to wear jumpers and cardigans and cosy tights again and the trees are so pretty with their leaves and just ugh, I LOVE IT SO MUCH. And dare I mention the PSL's again?!

7) Favourite make-up look?
Nothing beats a good dark lip in the colder months.

8) What are you looking forward to most in Autumn?
It's already half way through Autumn and I can't quite believe it! Before the season started I was most looking forward to PSL's (please don't shoot me), digging out my cardigans and jumpers and the start of the forth series of American Horror Story which I have been loving so far!

Feel free to answer these questions yourself and tell me what your favourite thing about Autumn is!
And also, let me know if you're in the Christmas spirit yet? I swear I'm that one person that everyone wants to shoot because they get into the spirit waaay too early.
Until next time,
Elijah xo

Kawaii Box October '14 Review

Apologies for not getting a post up last week. My college work has been piling up and any free time has been used to catch up on TV shows, anime & YouTube. I know, I know, I'm a bad blogger! But I am back with another subscription box review!

You may remember that in my last review post I mentioned that I was going to change subscription boxes. That I have done and I'm so glad I made the switch. Not only is this box slightly cheaper but I much prefer the contents of Kawaii Box to Kawaii Monthly and feel like it's more worth the money.

I really liked how the box came with a postcard with a handwritten note on it! It wasn't even a photocopy. I feel sorry for the person who had to sit and write each note!

The difference between Kawaii Box and Kawaii Monthly is that this one has a lot more smaller miscellaneous items such as charms and stationary.

The first item was this furry little creature. I think it's meant to be a cat and it's just so soft and cute! There's a little hoop on the top of its head so I'm guessing you're meant to hang it somewhere. I don't really have anywhere to hang it so I've got it sitting on my shelf instead.

Next is this adorable cat sharpener. I never use pencils so I haven't actually tried it out. I get the impression that it might be like those plastic kiddy sharpeners that never work properly, but as I haven't used it I could be wrong. It does make a really cute addition to my desk though!

Pens always seem to disappear in my house so new pens are always welcomed with open arms, especially Hello Kitty pens! It has a little charm on the lid of what I think is meant to be a chocolate bar. Keeping on the topic of sweet treats, there were also these sweetie hair bobbles. They remind me of something I would've worn when I was younger.

This was probably my favourite item in the box. A Korilakkuma charm! I actually have a similar Rilakumma charm that my best friend got me. These charms are squishy and would make good stress balls. But I'd never take my stress out on these cuties!

Just like Kawaii Monthly, there's always a sweet treat included! Like most Japanese confectionery, these chew sweets aren't like your average Starburst or Fruitella. Oh no. The packet describes these sweets as a 'soft yoghurt candy' with small gummy pieces in. I've never been a huge lover of chew sweets, but these are decent. The gummy parts kind of pop out of the soft chewy part as you eat it! I received the grapefruit flavour but there are a number of other flavours available. And can we just appreciate how cute the packaging is?!

Next is this rather colourful flannel/face cloth/whatever you want to call it. It's always useful to have several of these bad boys around the house. I especially like this one as it has a little hook in the corner so you can hang it up instead of just draping it over the side of the bath. In saying that, there's no where around my bath to actually hook it so it'll still end up draped over the side.

This little note card is really handy for birthdays or any other gift giving occasion. Although I am tempted to not use it and just keep it for myself.

Naturally, no 'kawaii' subscription is complete without stickers! The October box came with these cute cupcake stickers. You are never too old for stickers! I also received these 'fashion stickers' which are pink peals that you can use to decorate your phone, iPod, laptop, pretty much anything you like. I'll definitely find a use for the cupcake stickers but as for the pearl stickers I'm not so sure.

And last is this cute pouch that could be used as a make-up bag or pencil case. I have so many of these things that I don't know if I'll put this one to use straight away but it's always useful to have things like this on hand, especially when you're travelling.

If you guys are interested in subscribing to this box yourself, you can do so HERE. It's a must have for any lover of cute things! If you read any of my Kawaii Monthly reviews, which box do you prefer? Feel free to let me know!
Until next time,
Elijah xo

Etude House Haul & Review

One of my favourite places to browse for cute clothes is YesStyle, but it's only been recently that I've started to look at the beauty products on the site. Like any online marketplace, I've always been a little wary about ordering things in case they turn out to be really bad quality and are a hassle to return. I've ordered from YesStyle twice now and have yet to be disappointed! So, if you're looking for a place that sells quality Asian fashion and beauty products I highly recommend YesStyle.

My most recent purchases from the site were a number of products from the popular Korean beauty brand, Etude House. I had heard good things about the brand and being a complete sucker for cute packaging I just knew that I had to try the products myself.

The first product I bought was one of the nail polishes. Blue is my favourite colour and I do not have enough blue nail polishes in my collection! I only needed to apply one coat to my nails and it dried fairly quickly. However, I only had it on for about a day before it started to chip. It may last longer if you apple a base or top coat which I didn't do. Despite the chipping, I do really love the colour and the lace detailing on the packaging. It didn't break the bank either at only £2.81.

I don't know about you, but when it comes to buying the essential basics I am the worst. I will go out with the intention of buying a pair of tights, or some plain leggings, or some make-up wipes and end up coming home with a bagful of stuff but none of it the stuff that I actually needed. I had needed a new pair of tweezers for ages, but every time I planned on buying some, I seemed to 'forget.' But when I saw these I knew that I HAD to have them. I instantly fell in love with these cat tweezers. Not only are they super cute but they do their job in helping me keep my unruly eyebrows at bay.

[Cat Tweezers]

I also decided to try the Green Tea cleansing foam. I'm rubbish when it comes to skin care routines and looking after my skin in general and I really want to try and change that. All you need to do with this is simply wet your face, lather the product up and apply onto your skin. After rinsing it off, my skin feels soft and clean! It's also suitable for people with sensitive skin. There are other products with different purposes in the range, this being number 5 - Fresh & Clean.

[Every Month Cleansing Foam 05 Fresh & Clean - Green Tea]

I'm one of those people who gets rather excited about anything pumpkin flavoured. I'm not entirely sure why as I've never actually tried pumpkin itself. I blame the Pumpkin Spice Lattes from Starbucks! But something I had never come across before was a pumpkin flavoured/scented beauty product. As soon as I saw this I knew I had to try it! Despite not actually stating it, I think this a face mask. You've to apply the product in an even layer on your face and then rinse after 10-15 minutes. I've still to try it so I'm not sure how good the product is yet, but I love the idea of it being in a mini pack! I'm a sucker for minis.

[It's Real Mini Pack - Sweet Pumpkin]

The final product I bought is by far my favourite. It is just too cute! It's pretty much just your bog standard hand cream but it's the packaging that makes me squeal with joy. IT'S A PANDA! Cutest hand cream ever. There's a picture of a peach on the front of it which makes me assume that it's meant to be peach scented, however, there's no real scent to the product at all. It just smells like a basic hand cream. However, the packaging totally makes up for it!

[Missing U Hand Cream - #03 Panda Story]

I can definitely see myself buying a few more Etude House products in the future. I'm also desperate to try some Tony Moly products which is another Korean beauty brand you can find on YesStyle. Let me know if you've tried any products from Etude House or Tony Moly, or if you've purchased anything from YesStyle and whether you're a fan of these online Asian fashion stores!
Until next time,

September '14 Favourites

It is officially my favourite time of the year! These last three months are my absolute fave! I love Autumn, Pumpkin Spice lattes, candles, cosy jumpers, fireworks and of course, Christmas! And with the beginning of October it means that it's time for me to share my September favourites. I will admit that there aren't really any new beauty favourites this month. It's been a month of using the same products over and over again. However, I do have a number of random favourites to share with you all.

Nakd. Bars
I have an addiction other than caffeine and it comes in the form of these raw fruit and nut bars. I've been eating these for a few months now, but it's only been in the past month that I've really been hooked on them. It's got to the stage that I'm having one pretty much every day. These bars are super healthy and are literally just a mixture of fruit and nuts! They come in a whole range of different flavours including Cocoa Delight, Cashew Cookie and Rhubarb & Custard. They have recently launched two new flavours, Bakewell Tart and Christmas Pud, which I'm excited to try (if I can get hold of them. I still haven't managed to find the Caffe Mocha flavour which I am pretty distraught about). Who needs a chocolate bar when you can eat these bars of goodness?!

Pumpkin Spice Lattes
IT IS THAT TIME OF YEAR AGAIN AND I COULD NOT BE HAPPIER! Yes, I am one of those avid lovers of the Pumpkin Spice Latte from Starbucks. Every year I shed tears at the end of the season. The PSL is my favourite Starbucks drink of all time. Yes, I even prefer it to the Chai Tea Latte. I was super excited when I found out that they were launching them a month earlier this year! It's clear that these bad boys are high in demand and naturally I have been taking every opportunity to treat myself to one before they are replaced with the Christmas drinks.

MCM Comic Con '14
At the beginning of the month I went to Comic Con for the first time and it was AMAZING! One of the best weekends of my life. I won't speak too much about it here as I made this post a few weeks back talking about my experience. I'm so ready for next years event and am eagerly waiting for the tickets to go on sale.

Attack On Titan Hoodie
I have pretty much lived in this hoodie ever since I bought it at Comic Con. It's so soft and comfy and I am refusing to put it in the wash in fear that the softness will be lost. Does anyone else only put their hoodies in the wash like once a year? I feel like it's a completely normal thing to do and is in no way frowned upon. I have no regrets about spending £32 on this.

Doctor Who
It would be an injustice if I did not include Doctor Who in my favourites this month. September saw the 12th Doctor explode onto our screens and I have to say, so far Capaldi is doing a fucking fantastic job. I was unsure about how I would feel since Matt was my favourite Doctor (yes, I preferred him over David. Don't shoot). But I seem to have taking a shine to the new Doctor. I love how they decided to keep the Scottish accent and wish they did the same with David. The story lines still aren't the best. Much like a lot of Whovians, I prefer the stories of the Russell T. Davis days, but the series has still managed to hold my attention and continues to be one of my favourite TV shows.

And so another favourites post comes to a close. Let me know what you guys have been loving this month or if you've been loving any of the same things I have!

My Nail Polish Collection '14

I will hold my hands up and admit that when it comes to my make-up collection I don't have a huge variety of products. However, two products that I seem to have acquired quite a number of are lipsticks and nail polishes. As I've already shared my lipstick collection with you guys, I thought I might as well give you a little insight on my nail polish collection.

Rimmel London 'I Love Lasting Finish'
I'm not even going to bother hiding the fact that Rimmel is my go to brand for pretty much every make-up product. Can you blame me though? Their products are both affordable and really great quality. So, naturally, most of the nail polish I own is from Rimmel. I own four polishes from the 'I Love Lasting Finish' range. I find that I have to apply at least two coats of the polish but it dries fairly quickly and as the name suggests it does indeed last a good while on the nails (unless you're like me and pick it off two days later). At only £2.99 these are a real bargain.

Rimmel London '60 Seconds'
Another bargain buy from Rimmel, the '60 Seconds' range are for the people who just don't have the patience to sit around waiting for their nails to dry. Let's face it, does anyone actually enjoy that? Again, I find that I usually have to apply two coats so it usually takes a bit longer than 60 seconds. These polishes also come with a flat brush making application quicker and easier.

L-R: 'Instyle Coral,' 'Too Cool To Tango, 'How Do You Lilac It?', 'Ring A Ring O'Roses'

Rimmel London 'Salon Pro'
This is by far my favourite range of polishes by Rimmel. I'm surprised that I haven't purchased any other colours. I find that one coat of these bad boys is usually enough and they also last really well. They cost slightly more than the other two main nail polish ranges by Rimmel, but they're still affordable! The Salon Pro polishes also have a really good range of colours including darks and pastels. I am in love with the dark green colour. It reminds me of Christmas!

L-R: 'Jazz Funk,' 'Acid House'

Other Rimmel Polishes
Rimmel are always bringing out smaller ranges of polishes. There's never a huge variety of colours with these mini ranges, but there's usually always at least one colour that takes my fancy. Here I have polishes from 'Metal Rush,' 'Space Dust' and my personal favourite, 'Sweetie Crush.' The 'Metal Rush' polish changes colour depending on the light you're in. This one changes from blue to purple to green! The 'Sweetie Crush' and 'Space Dust' polishes are textured. A real must have for any glitter lover. It took me a while to get used to the texture on my nails, but the only negative thing I have to say about these polishes is that they're a total pain to take off.

L-R: 'Royal Blue,' 'Candyfloss Cutie,' 'Aurora'

Barry M
Even though I remain faithful to Rimmel London, I will admit that the Barry M nail polishes are my favourites. One coat is usually always enough, they're super duper affordable and I love the ranges they come out with. My favourite for Autumn/Winter is the 'Matte' range. I adore the Autumnal colours and I am a huge fan of matte polishes and lipsticks. I had seen several other beauty bloggers talk about the 'Gelly Hi-Shine' polishes and I have to say that they completely, 100% live up to the hype that was created around them when they first came out.

L-R:'Blueberry,' 'Crush,' 'Bikini,' 'Caramel,' 'Sugar Apple'

Tanya Burr Cosmetics
Tanya Burr is one of my favourite beauty bloggers & YouTubers so you can imagine my excitement when she launched her range of cosmetics. I still need to get my hands on one of the lip glosses, but I'm the proud owner of two of her nail polishes! These polishes are great quality and last well on the nails. I usually have to apply more than one coat, especially with 'Mini Marshmallows,' but all in all they're great products and I'm super proud of Tanya! She's going to be releasing new products soon and I'm excited to see what she's come up with.

L-R: 'Mini Marshmallows,' 'Little Duck'

Other Polishes
I also have a few polishes from other brands including Max Factor and Orly. The Orly polish was a free gift included with the October issue of Cosmopolitan. The issue is still on sale so if you fancy getting your hands on a sample then there's still time! I haven't worn the Max Factor polishes in a while, but from what I can remember they're both great. As the Orly polish is a nude colour, I had to apply about three coats so that it actually looked as if I had painted nails, but it's a great product and it was free, so I'm not going to complain! I also thought I'd include this dark blue polish from Gold by Giles. I'm not all that familiar with the brand and I can't even remember when and where I bought it. I really do love the colour though and think I may just have to use it again soon!

L-R: 'Sheer Nude,' 'Cool Jade,' 'Ruby Fruit,'
Couldn't find name or link for Gold by Giles polish.

5 gold stars if you reached the end of the post! It was a rather long one. Let me know in the comments of your favourite brand of nail polish and feel free to leave me any suggestions for future posts!
